CCS/CODECOMPOSER: OUTPUT File Size

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi, I am using Code Composer Studio 3.0 and 6.0. The target .bin file sizes differ between the two versions for the same code (no changes were made to any part of the source code). Why is there a difference in the output target file sizes? The overlapping configuration settings are also the same. Thanks.

Do you use the same compiler and library versions in both cases?

Yes. The same versions and same configuration (overlapping) settings.

Compare hex files to find a difference.
Why do you ask this question?
CCS6 is not supported. Both CCSs are older than carbon.

To get the same binary file out of two builds, a surprising number of details have to match. It is likely you have overlooked a few of these details. For a deeper discussion of this topic, please see this forum thread.
