CCS/MSP430FR2433: CCS Installation stops with "An error occured"

I have been developing MSP430Gxxxx software for several years, but recently started a MSP430FR2433 project.

I Uninstalled CCS 6.1.300033 because of problems with developing MSP430FR2433 SW and tried to install several CCS version from 8.3 - 7.4 - and then I tried to load 6.1.3 again.

I used the offline download and then run the .exe file with the antivirus turned OFF. In each case the same error message is displayed "An error occured: Installer failed to install jre correctly. I have photos of the screen. I tried to seend the log files, but the files were locked by another process (maybe ZIP program).

I need to get CSS working again since I can no longer develop software, but can not download CCS to my PC at this time. Any help would be great.

Hi,

Please zip up the install_logs folder in your install directory and post here. From the sound of it, you're still using a web install, but I can't say for sure until I see the logs. If you've downloaded the offline package, please make sure it's unzipped, with the folder structure intact.

Hi Larry,
It looks like one of the components was unable to write the file c:\Users\larry\ti\CCSExternalReferences\dmed_01_01_05_00. Could you please make sure you have enough disk space, and are able to write to that folder. Remove the dmed file if it exists.
Let me know if you're still seeing issues.

I removed the xx\ti\CCSExternalReferences\dmed_01_01_05_00 file and CCS 8.3.0.00009 installed with no problems.

I now can develop software for the MSP430FR2433.

As additional information, I am running Windows 10 32bit, using MSP-FET430UIF. The target PCB is my own design using MSP430FR2433 with SPI controlled LCD display, SPI controlled Thermocouple IC, Timer (TA1.2) controlled Alarm sound, 3 user PBs, and power control to set oven temperature.
