CCS/CC2642R: Compatibility for environment with: CC2642R, XDS200 USB Debug Probe and Code Composer Studio

Part Number: CC2642R

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

here https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/bluetooth/f/538/t/657842

But here e2e.ti.com/.../2080153 says that "CCS is not completely free, but it is available for no additional charge for customers of TI devices. The distinction may sound

relevant".

My question is:

I want to develop a system in which I use a CC2642R chip, a free license of CCS (any Version would do it) and a XDS200 debugger. Is this setup possible? if not what should I consider?

Best Regards,

Yeicatl Ramos

PS: here www.ti.com/.../tmdsemu200-u  is some information about the debugger available where it says "SimpleLink MCUs (CC13xx, CC26xx, CC3x, MSP432)" and "An installation of Code Composer Studio v6 (or newer)" are supported

  • Yeicatl,

There is no license fee associated with Code Composer Studio. The license does limit its use to TI devices. This means that you could not use it to develop software for a non-TI MCU/Processor.

For CC2642R the default debug probe would be XDS110. This is what is built into the LaunchPad. However if you want better performance then the XDS200 is an option.

    Regards,
    John
