TMS320F28377D: External Mode Simulink error

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Hello everyone! Anyone can help me solve below problems?

I am using a board TI Delfino TMS320F28377D. I have a problem to use this board with External Mode in Simulink. The error was issued as follows:

I connected the board via JTAG using an XDS100v3-Debug-Probe. I set up the parameters as below:

  • Hi,

There are other threads on E2E which may help. Try searching for "ext-comm", and browse around.

If you are still stuck, please directly contact MathWorks Tech Support for assistance.

    Cheers,

  • Hi Mr. Hai

It's been a week since we heard from you, so I am assuming you no longer need clarification for your question that will be marking this thread as closed. You can reply with a post or create a new thread if you have any further question on this topic. Thanks.
  • Hi sir,

I noticed that our reply did not help you reach a resolution. Please provide why this was not the case as well as any other information that may help us resolve this. Thanks.
  • Hello! Thank you for the response

Below I listed all the ways that I referred from some similar thread but it all failed:

    - The pins have been configured for SCI_A communication correctly (GPIO29 and GPIO28 for TX and RX, respectively).

    - Changing the oscillator frequency from 20MHz to 10MHz or use internal oscillator.

    - The COM port has been assigned correctly as Device Management in Windows shown. (COM3 or COM4, I tried both)

And I tried to send data via SCI-A  to the Terminal in CCS, the Terminal didn't show anything.

The links below are the board and the emulator I used:

    Please check it for me.

    Thank you

  • Hi,

It seems this thread was forgotten. I apologize for that.

I was asked to reply to this thread from the standpoint of the XDS100v3 Debug Probe.

I see from your first screenshot that you have, in fact, three COM ports in your system.

Both COM3 and COM4 are intrinsic to the XDS100v3 - one of them is used to debug the device via JTAG and the other is usually connected internally to the Debug Probe to program its CPLD. Unless you hardwired the secondary UART port of the XDS100v3 to the SCI port in your board, there'll be no data traffic on either COM ports.

I suspect you want to configure your terminal to use COM1 instead, if it is hardwired to the SCI port in your board.

In any case, this does not seem to be a problem with the XDS100v3 but instead with the SCI port configuration, connections or something else related to the device. In this case, the device experts of this forum will be able to help you further (this is out of my area of expertise).

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
