CCS: Spectrum digital xds 510 usb emulator-0/c28xx

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I have an xds 510 usb emulator .  When i try to connect to the target , i am getting an error like

Spectrum digital xds 510 usb emulator-0/c28xx

Error Connecting to the target

Error 080000200/-2082

Fatal error during :0cs

Device driver: Emulation Connection Loss Detected on Target CPU.

It is recommended to RESET EMULATOR. This will disconnect each

target from the emulator. The targets should then be power cycled

or hard reset followed by an emureset and reconnect to each target.

Please help, any suggestion would be appreciated

Thanksalot

  • Anna,

Usually error 2082 is related to connection problems between the probe and the target device, thus ruling out any issues with USB cables and device drivers. This can be a problem on the JTAG cable, the connector or the device power or ability to connect.

In order to help digging further, can you run the utility mentioned in the thread below? It may give you further ideas about the nature of the problem.

Unfortunately the XDS510-class of Debug Probes lacks the more advanced diagnostic utilities of more modern classes and hasn't been actively supported for many years, therefore my ability to further help is severely limited.

  • Thanksalot, Where can i find this utility?
  • Now i am getting an error code 1041, looks like related to ftdi chip or the ftdi cable, can i just change them and see?
  • Anna,

Error 1041 is indeed related to a FTDI device; however, it is used by the XDS100-class of Debug Probes, not XDS510 as you originally mentioned.

Given that at this point I am not entirely sure how you are setting up your development environment, would you mind sending the model of your development kit or a photograph of your connections (including the board and the Debug Probe being used) so I can have better educated suggestions?

    Rafael
