CCS/CC1352P: Can't set breakpoints in code composer 9.0.1 unless I pause

Hi,

I updated to the new SDK for CC1352 (3.10) and am using 9.0.1 as this is one of the dependencies for the new SDK.

With 9.0.1 I can no longer set breakpoints when the code is running. I must pause first

I have done everyhthing that you said in that post, but it still does not work.

The TI emulator i am using is 8.1.0.00012

I have also tried deleting the workspace and the debug configuration with no luck.

With 8.3 I dont see this issue

You mention that you can no longer set breakpoints. I assume that you once had an environment where it was working and now it fails to work. Was this after you updated to 9.0.1? Or when you updated the SDK to 3.10? Or both?

Yeh so I meant that it once worked in 8.3 - with 8.3 I never saw this problem
With other projects that work with an older SDK it also happens.

Thanks. I was just able to reproduce the issue on both CCSv9.0.1 and CCSv8.3.1. Both have The TI emulator i a pack version 8.1.0.00012. I suspect your 8.3.0 does not have that version. Correct?

Correct!

I Uninstalled it due to the issue where ccs would crash every other debug session.

CCSv.8.3.1 fixes that exact issue you are referring to. But it comes with an updated emulators pack (8.1.0.00012) which I suspect is contributing to the breakpoints thing.

Or it could be the debugger fix in 9.0.1 and 8.3.1. In any case, I filed a bug for this issue. Tracking ID: CCDSK-3610

Since I just filed the bug, it has yet to be analyzed. Hence no timeline for a fix just yet.

Note that since I *just* filed the bug, it may not show up in the system yet. It usually takes an hour or two to sync.

Hi,

I can't find the bug on the track portal. Any idea what the status is? Its quite difficult for our team to work when you have to pause to breakpoint...

CCDSK-3396 was determined to not be a CCS issue, but an issue with the ARM emulation driver. Hence the bug was transitioned to that project and given a new ID: DBGTRC-4936

The status of the issue is still open and I do not have a timetable yet of when a fix will be implemented.

Scratch that. A fix is now available and it should be in the next emulator pack release that will come in CCSv9.1.0 (e/o June) and will also be released to 9.0.1 as an update.
