I want to follow the process at the following address to use the 'printf' function.

But I was to enter the 'property' menu, items that must be invisible.
Why is that?

Hello,
The first screenshot shows where is used to be on old version of CCS. Assuming you are using something newer, please check under "Language Options":

'Language option' is set just like the picture you suggested.
So, can I use the 'printf' function without any setup?

If you are fine with just minimal support (very basic printf functionality), then that is the first step. Note that file I/O like printf is very "costly" on MCUs with limited memory and HW resources (like MSP430) and there is a lot of other considerations to get it to work. The wiki article you are following covers a lot of those steps in regards to stack/heap size, enabling C I/O breakpoints, etc.

Can you answer this question, too?
If the 'printf' function is a function that is hard to use, I want to use Uart.

Rerouting C I/O to UART is better in regards to less overhead (in code size and performance). But the drawback is that there is some extra work for you to set this up.
