Updating the Device Variant List

I'm running CCS Version: 4.0.2.01003, and there are no updates for it at this time. When creating a new project, it does not have my device variant for MSP430G2231. Where can I obtain this variant?

    Please update to the latest CCS version to get this device support.

    Go to Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install, select the "Search for new features to install" option. The latest version is 4.2.1.

    Thanks Andy. Upgrading to the latest version of CCS did populate the Device Variant List with the devices I needed. However, the upgrade could not be done through the Help menu of CCS. I had to download the latest version and install it and re-register.

    Perhaps some new export licensing requirements had blocked the autoupdate capability in CCS? I had to supply much more registration information then the initial time CCS was installed; it also required the MAC address to my PC. That is one way to assure only one copy of CCS is registered in my name!

    Now I can get back to the fun.
