Hello,

I am using CodeComposer Studio 9.1.0.00010, but I noticed this problem already appearing on CCS 8 after some updates:

Whenever my mouse is over an expression without a value, like

#define ABC

I get an error message box indicating a java.lang.NullPointerException. This is really annoying, as it always appears, when I move my mouse around. Is there a possiblity to switch off this kind of hover without switching off ALL hovers? Or is there a fix or other workaround?

    Klaus,

    It looks like you tried attaching a screenshot but it did not come through. Could you try attaching it again please? That might help us understand how/when the error message is generated as I haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

    Hello,

    indeed, I tried to add a picture by copy-paste. It appeared in the edit-window, but disappeared after posting.

    In the meantime, I found out something more: it happens only, if the debugger is active. And then it happens in all perspectives.

    I will attach the screenshot as file as well as copy-paste. Let's  see, which one will survive :)

    Klaus,

    Thank you for attaching the screenshot. I searched for similar errors and found that this issue is reported as a bug in the Eclipse CDT, as described in this related thread. Unfortunately the issue will only be fixed in CCS after we pick up a version of Eclipse CDT that contains a fix.
