Compiler: Windows installer runs, but I can't find the files

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hi I'm trying to install the MSP430 code generation tools - version 18.12.1.LTS or later. I have tried the windows installer for several different versions. The installer runs and says it succeeds, but I don't see anything in the install directory. If I rerun the installer and point to the same install directory, it shows all kinds of subfolders inside there, but if I browse there in windows explorer I don't see anything. When I try to add the compiler in code composer, it also sees nothing in that directory. Every time I run the installer, the available disk space on my computer decreases, so it seems like it is truly unpacking the files. I've tried finding some of the file names that the installer said it was unpacking, but have not found them. Any ideas on where it is being installed and/or how to find it? Thank you.

  • Update: I wasn't able to get the windows installer working, but I instead was able to install it from within code composer:

    Help -> Install New Software->Code generation updates
    Work with: Code Generation Tools Updates->expand TI Compiler Updates
    Uncheck show only the latest versions of available software at the bottom
    Find MSP430 Compilier Tools version 18.12.1 and check the box. Then click Next & Next and accept and finish
