CCS/LAUNCHXL-F28027F: CCS needs to old version compiler to open ControlSuite Examples

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28027F
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I have CCS 9.2 and trying to import examples from controlSuite but I have encountered with error which says :

'This project was created using a version of compiler that is not currently installed - 6.4.2 [C2000].'  So, I have installed that version of compiler.

But still, I get the same error and I cant execute the example codes. What should I do ?

Thanks and Regards,

-Can

  • In CCS 9.2.0 there was a bug where older versions of the compiler tools failed to get installed properly. The "Installed Software" list would show the version as installed even though it may not have been correctly installed. I suspect that is what has happened in your case.

Please see this related forum thread for more details: https://e2e.ti.com/support/tools/ccs/f/81/t/847224

This issue is fixed in CCS 9.3.0. If you don't have a requirement to stay with 9.2, I would suggest installing CCS 9.3 and then installing version 6.4.2 of the compiler tools. If you have a need to stay with 9.2 for some reason, then please follow the workaround mentioned in the thread I have linked above.
