The error message " The specified directory does not resemble an Energia install. Please select the directory containing the 'energia' executable." is shown when attempting to register the Energia App for a new Energia Sketch in CCSv10 on a MacOS install. The problem does not occur on the Windows install. Using the Java subfolder containing the /hardware folder in lieu of the App does not work either.

    Bevan,

    CCS does not recognize the Energia install due to a bug in Energia on macOS.  I saw this in Energia 21.  I am not sure what version you are using but there is a workaround.

    Go to the location where you have Energia installed and go to:

    /Applications/.../Energia.app/Contents/Java/lib/

    Open version.txt 

    It likely contains the string "${version}"

    Replace that with "1.8.7E21" or change the 21 to the version of Energia you are using. 

    CCS should now be able to discover Energia.
