Hi all,

I would like to establish the UART link of my MCU with this code. My problem is here following: when i compile my program with the complete code, it doesn't work but if remove the part in green color, the program runs. I don't understand why it is doing this. Isn't the part in green necessary ?

Can someone explain to me please ?

Hello,

Code turns green when you comment it out. I see that the commented section is the UART interrupt service routine (ISR). This code gets triggered when the USCI module receives a byte.

What device are you using? What programmer (e.g. onboard or MSP-FET) are you using?

What doesn't work? With the ISR commented out, you said the program runs, but I don't see how it would work correctly. You enable the UART RX interrupt, but the ISR won't get triggered to read/store the data in the RX buffer. Unless, you're viewing what's in the UART RX buffer in debug mode.

Hi James,

I have a link where several examples are given to configure the UART bu i don't know which one to choose. My program isn't running yet. Can you helps me please ? I am using the MSP430FR5949 on CCS.

Hello,

Those examples most likely show different clock sources and different baud rate settings. I would recommend choosing one that matches your baud rate or allows you to change to configure your required baud rate.
