Compiler/MSP-EXP430F5529LP: stuck compliling rts430x_lc_rd_eabi_se.lib

building prevasivedisplays eink sample project for CCS

I encounter this message at build time:

warning #10366-D: automatic library build: using library "D:\ti\ccs1010\ccs\tools\compiler\ti-cgt-msp430_20.2.2.LTS\lib\rts430x_lc_rd_eabi_se.lib" for the first time, so it must be built. This may take a few minutes.

I have aborted after 30+ minutes

ccstuio.exe and child processes lappear idle.

I periodically see ti- Code Composer Studio and Console Window Host jump to 0.1% CPU utilization. Other than that, child processes are idle.

~100GB free on C drive and >200 GB free on D. Drives are solid state.

It normally takes 3-5 minutes.

I cannot tell what went wrong. I presume you tried again and got the same result.

Please consider building the library manually with the utility mklib. Please search the C28x compiler manual for the sub-chapter titled Library-Build Process.

Please let me know if this suggestion resolves the problem.

George, thanks for responding.

Oddly enough, if I leave it alone for 1 hour +, it will succeed. Essentially zero CPU utilization, and eventually succeeds.

I'll give the mklib a try if I need to build it again.

Is the compiler, or the temporary directory, on a network drive, and not a local drive?
