Problem in simulating UCC28180 by orcad. What's the BOOSTCCMDCM model inside

I downloaded the pspice model form net. In the given example, it uses BOOSTCCMDCM model and works well. but when i replace it with the MOSFET it doesn't work. The  schematic is as below:

And this is typical application from datasheet.

  • User,
Thanks for your interest in TI. I've contacted the product group responsible for this device. Look for a reply from them soon.

  • user4418375,

The BOOSTCCMDCM is REQUIRED for use with this average model. It is not a FET model. The FET model is NOT needed as all switching is averaged (hence the average model name). The average model is used for Bode Plot simulations (AC) and only the pins/components that effect the loop should be considered. In this case, you have also removed the injection inductance and capacitance as well.

The circuit in the product folder is this EXACT circuit for use with the average model. You should not need to change any items in order to get the simulation to run properly for this example.

If you are using a custom circuit, the changes you may make are the compensation values, operating frequency, inductor, output capacitor, and load current. If you need assistance changing these items, please let us know and we can help direct you to the proper circuit.

  • Thank you. I'm a new person here. It's also my first time using TI model. Thank you for your help.
