Thanks for reaching out.
The design of TIDA-010054 is based on the rectangular waveforms applied to the coupling/leakage inductor. Changing this impacts the control scheme as well as the maximum power transfer and would require a different theoretical derivation.
In our design we wanted to keep the approach of a standard Dual Active Bridge with phase shift control of rectangular waveforms.
