PSPICE-FOR-TI: User Authentication Internal Error (-2012) running on Windows 11 Cloud PC

Tool/software:

I am trying to run PSPICE-FOR-TI from a cloud PC running Windows 11, but when I enter my e-mail and Access Key, the application runs into an internal error condition (-2012) and advises to seek assistance on this forum.

I did find another issue that appeared to be similar, but I do not have the same issue with a lack of a serial number.

    Hi Chris,

    Sorry for the delay. I had a 4 day weekend, and then got food poisoning. 

    Did the tool ever work on the cloud PC?

    Hi David - the 4 day weekend sounds great, but I'm sorry to hear that you got food poisoning.

    I just checked again and I am still getting the same error when I try to run the installer.
    I have also tried running this in Windows 8 compatibility mode and running it as an Administrator, both of which fail with the same error.
    Do you have any ideas or additional things that I should check on my system?

    This is a cloud-based virtual machine (I need to run on Ubuntu for most of my work and I haven't had any luck getting PSpiceForTI running on that, so this is our attempt to work around that).

    So, you connect to this cloud PC from within Ubuntu and installed PSpice for TI inside it, then tried to lauch PSpice for TI (same user account)?

    I got a confirmation that the single user license is not supported on Microsoft 356. It is supported on other platforms such as AWS and AZURE however.

    Just to restate to make sure that I understand, it sounds like PSPICE-FOR-TI needs some support for "single user license" that is not included in Windows 365.  This will prevent this from ever working on this cloud machine, so if we want to work with this, we need to abandon trying to get it working here and try it on some other machine (AWS or Azure recommended)?

    This whole request stems from not being able to run PSPICE-FOR-TI on Ubuntu, so while we are having the conversation, are there any considerations for supporting this in Ubuntu in the future?

    It is pretty disappointing to not be able to use this program given that comparable programs from other vendors such as LTSpice work fine both with WINE in Ubuntu and on the Windows 365 machine.

    Got the final confirmation.

    Cloud installation is not supported for PSpice for TI, nor is there a plan to bring it to Linux. You can try a VM solution nevertheless.
