PSPICE-FOR-TI: Cadence license server's IP address is incorrect

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI

Tool/software:

The IP adress of the license server of PSPICE FOR TI is incorrect.

As the related thread metioned, the PSPICE FOR TI's hostname is: cdsplicwc.cadence.com.co.ltd, and the correct corresponding ip address shall be: 64.207.220.106

But unfortunately ,  I have tried all computers I have, and the DNS server returned the IP of the host name cdsplicwc.cadence.com.co.ltd is 60.190.255.211

Here is the computer which is located in China:

And here is the computer which is located in Holland:

It means that it's not only Chinese local DNS's fault, almost all the DNS has the same issue.

I have also tried to use domain to IP check website, and it also shows that:

It means that almost all DNSs will return cdsplicwc.cadence.com.co.ltd to 60.190.255.211, but it's an incorrect IP, it will cause PSPICE FOR TI shows in information below:

And because we cannot connect to cadence license server, so we can't use PSPICE FOR TI also.

  • Hi Floyd,

Not sure where you get that url. You can check the link by visiting Test Connection.

Your organization's network setting may prevent a successful connection even if the above URL returns a success. Please generate a log file like this for troubleshooring:

    1. Create a new environment variable "CDS_LIC_QA_TesT". Set it to something like "C:\Cadence\PSpiceTI\LicLog.txt".
    2. Run the installer and wait for the error message, then share the file "C:\Cadence\PSpiceTI\LicLog.tx".
    3. Delete the environment variable "CDS_LIC_QA_TesT".
    4. share the file LicLog.txt

Step 3 is important because otherwise that file will grow to enormous size over time. We don't want to cause them problems down the road.

    Thanks,
    JC

  • Hi Mr Zhu,

    Thanks for your reply.

I get the url from the original questions:

Please read original question first, it has discussed a lot about why some machine can't connect to cadence license server.

I post this thread because I found that the liciense server IP is incorrect is not a fault for a single machine, almost all the DNS server returns incorrect IP of license server, maybe this is the fault of cadence internal network.

  • Hi Floyd,

What you get inside the command window may not be what the program sees as many machines are not directly connected to the internet. For example, I cannot ping the ip inside my company network nor can I do a domain lookup:

Yet I can run PSpice for TI without issue.

Note that I can resolve the ip address on my PC at home:
