LM27762: Slightly higher -5.2V output possible?

Part Number: LM27762

Tool/software:

Hello TI Support Team.

The datasheet limit of the LM27762 for the negative V output is -5.0V. For a non-production board, is it possible to go to -5.2V Vout- from a +5.2V  Vin input supply voltage?

I would set the resistors to 324kOhm and 100kOhm to achieve 4.24 x 1.22V = -5.173V output.

Thanks

Holger

  • Hi Holger,

This may be alright for a non production test board.

It might be better to tap the negative output directly at CP pin. You could then avoid the dropout voltage across the LDO. The positive voltage probably still has to be a few 100mV higher to account for the voltage drop across the charge pump output impedance.

    Best regards,
