snvm042 with transientprotection.tscHi,
I'm simulating LM5017 which works fine with a constant input voltage. However, I now want to test a overvoltage transient protection circuit in front of the LM5017 and I'm using a piesewise linear voltage generator to specifiy the short 125V pulse that I have set to occur after 10ms of simulation time. When the simulation hits 10ms (i.e when the 125V pulse hits the system) there is a convergence error and I dont know how to solve it.
Can someone please help me ?
I have attached the TINA file.
Best regards

Ronny,
I am taking a look at this and a couple of other convergence issues on the forum. I have not been able to find a suitable solution yet.
Thanks for your effort, and I would be very grateful if you could find a solution, and also to to be able learn more about TINA for future simulation projects.
If you cant find a solution it would be grate of you could give some hint on why, and if possible what to change in the schematics to get it to work..

Ronny,
I could not get the test to converge after several trials. There may be an issue with the model, however, I have yet to find the problem. The simulation runs properly with a spike of 45V or lower, or if you start at a voltage of 38V or higher with the 125V spike. Very strange.
I hope this information helps. I will look at the issue a little deeper, but that will take some time.
OK, well that is still very useful information since one actual situation in the real world application is a supply voltage of 48V and a spike to 125V.
It would however be very useful if you could get the model to work during other conditions.
Thanks a lot :-)
Best regards
Ronny
