TPS53355 Enable pin schematics on Webench

Guru 20090 points

Hello,

Please see the attached file as schematics of webench simulation result.

(1) Renable
Could you please let me know the meaning of Renable 1000kohm?
I couldn't find this resistor in the datasheet.

(2) RenT, RenB
Since the EN input range is 6.5V, can we connect EN to VDD directly?
I think that there is the design rule on Webench simulation.
If yes, please let me know the design rule.

Best Regards,
Ryuji Asaka

  • Asaka-san,

The enable resistor (1kohm, not 1000kohm) is shown in the EVM (evaluation module) schematic.  It is used to limit the current and ensure a more accurate enable threshold.  VDD can go to 25V while the enable pin has a max value of 6.5V.  You can connect EN to VDD directly but be careful VDD does not go over 6.5V.
