Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models
Hi Team,
I used Webench analyze the TPS62160-Q1, however, there is not a option to produce a bode plot to check stability for this device in Webench. I went ahead and downloaded the schematic to TINA to tried running an AC analysis on the circuit.
For some reason, my gain plot is starting at <130dB.. Is this accurate? I am trying to check stability, so I am looking for the 0dB crossing point, but I am not sure how to correlate what I'm seeing on the bode plot to the 0dB crossing point.
Please see attached file with output.
Thank you,
Jared
HI Jared,
Please refer to the following FAQ about running loop response on switching regulators:
In general, DCS and DCAP topology devices do not have average models. These have limited selection of filter inductor and capacitor and no option to adjust compensation. Hence using the L and C values specified in the datasheet (there is usually a table with acceptable values) guarantees stable operation.
