Hi team,

there have a question about thermal simulation.

my customer did Webench simulation with diode have different R_th_ja. but the temperature is same.

they expect the smaller R_th_ja, the lower temperature. but even the R_th_ja different, the temperature is same.

could you help with this question ?

    Hi Peter,

    The diodes which are selected above are thru-hole components. Generally we prefer SMD components. And Diode temperature works fine for SMD components.

    Example : 

    Is it possible to suggest the customer to select any SMD component instead of thru-hole components?
