TIDA-00367: UCC28630

Part Number: TIDA-00367

In below picture where i mentioned red color question mark (?), in my hardware voltage continuously vary, not stable due to this UCC-28630 not "ON"

  • Hi Muhammad,

Please use R7,R23,R8 as 47K once to check for startup behavior.

    Best Regards,
    Ram
  • same issue after replacing 100K with 47K

  • please guide me possible soltuion
  • Hi Ram
i already replied that my issue not resolve by replacing resistor value. Now i saw UCC-28630 Data sheet page 54 figure 44 application circuit used Zener diode at HV pin. May i use this type of zener to stable the voltage ?
  • Hi Muhammad,

Can you capture the VDD voltage through a scope and send me the image. I think the problem could be that the auxiliary is not able build up the voltage to sustain operation.

    Best Regards,

    Ram

  • Hi Ram
VDD voltage video from start to switch off

  • Hi Shoaib,

I think this is an issue either with the Auxilary winding or a protection kicking in. This is not an issue with startup.

  • Hi Shoaib,

The UCC28630 started switching when VDD reaches 14V but it turn-off when VDD reached 12V. I believe that it detected some fault. Can you try to capture the Drive pin waveform along with the VDD. This can indicate to you if the IC stopped switching when VDD reaches 12.

Also are you testing with AC input or DC input?

    Best Regards,
    Ram
  • Hi Ram
Drive pin have no signal straight zero output line.
I am testing this on DC 300V
  • Hi Shoaib,

If you are using UCC28630 or UCC28633, it will not work with DC input due to the X-Cap discharge feature. Please test with AC input.

    Best Regards,

    Ram
