Hello,
Recently when I learn about the TI Designs: TIDA-01604 and Design Guide: TIDM-02002, I'm a little confused. The SiC MOSFET used in the two designs are similar, however its gate driver are quite different, that's why?
The design file of gate driver is TIDA-01605 and PMP21553 respectively.
Is it just because the different authors?
Thanks very much.
Hello,
Actually if you look at the main parts of the schematics (PMP21533 and TIDA-01605) they are pretty similar.
Both use the UCC215xx isolated dual gate driver and the SN650x for the push pull power supply.
There are some differences in the gate drive resistors and turn off diodes (mostly due to different engineers).
The big difference is the TIDA-01605 uses the ISO7721 to implement FAULT and RST Signals.
Hopefully this helps ease the concerns.
Thanks,
Robert
