Hi guys,

this is my schematic for 12V configuration ,

SS_EN - gnd

IGN_PWR - VREG

PS - gnd

PG_DLY - gnd

FB - gnd

PG - VOUT or 5V

connecting this pin in this configuration working fine.At the time output voltage 5V

but I need 12V ,600mA I change the configuration as per the webbench design tool like wise

SS_EN - gnd

IGN_PWR - gnd

PS - gnd

PG_DLY - gnd

FB - gnd

PG - VOUT series with 100k

In this configuration IC can't power up that means did not wake up .Please help me to fix the problem

Hi ,

and also I have other doubt that is ,I am using the correct part

part number mentioned in Ic - TPS55165 89TG4 AGF3

Hi Gobinath,

Thanks for contacting us. I went ahead and created the design for TPS55165-Q1 with your input condition (Vin : 6V-36V, Vout: 12V, Iout = 0.6A) and ran simulations (Startup and steady state). Please find the Webench report attached below (includes simulation waveform too). Let me know if this helps.

Hi,

In previous message attached simulation model which is not help me to take output .even I connecting the 12V configuration I am getting 5V .

Inductor L1 side 12V and L2 other sidse 6V only it gives. I think something problem in inductor section and also I am using input and output

capacitor throughhole 100uF is this doing anything fishy on my circuit. can please you advice for this circuit

Dear Sir,

If Vin=20V, then what will be the Vout. Is it still 5V?

Hi Helen,

If I give 15V Input to the IC it wakeup and work fine ,but when I give 8V-12V input to the IC it will not wakeup fine.It gives fluctuated DC 7V to 8V and added ripples. but my actual input from my battery Fixed 12V. , so please help me to findout and fix the problem .

First image contains IC and their components and second image contains

programmable IGN_PWR ,PS ,PG_DLY ,FB ,PG using J29,J30,J31 and J32.

+5V and +12V tracks 2mm track and all other tracks contain 3mm

Inductance: 4.7µH

RMS Current (Irms): 5.5A

Inductor Construction: Shielded

Which layer is the GND layer. It only shows two layers in the attached picture.

Board has two layers ,top and bottom this two layer fully filled with gnd plane with 2 ounce copper

RED color shows top layer

GREEN color shows bottom layer .In the bottom layer no more components placed only the top layer have components. In previous thread i have attached a

image file without ground check it .

Dear Sir,

I found the layout is very very poor. the output cap is very far away from the Vout pin. The caps, especially the ceramic caps should be placed very close to the Vout pin, then return to the PGND pin in the smallest loop.

And for the TPS55165, actually a 2-layer board is not suggested since its PGND is far away from the Vout pin. Please refer to the attached TPS55165 EVM layer file for a reference. And you must layout strictly according to it.
