Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

I'm entering the values into the webench design fields as below, which are within the ranges, but it keeps coming up with design not possible?

if the design cannot support my requirements then why are the  recommended values there?

    Hi Chris,

    The WEBENCH design is failing due to the average current limit is being hit.

    For the above conditions, The Input current for Boost mode exceeds the average current limit threshold as shown below.

    BoostDutyCycle = (Vout_Usr - VinMin_Usr) / (Vout_Usr) =(5-2.3) /5=0.54

    Input Current = Iout_Usr / (Eff_Est * (1 - BoostDutyCycle))= 1.8/( 1*(1-0.54))=3.91A         : Considering the Ideal Duty cycle and 100% Efficiency

    Input Current > 3.05A Hence WEBENCH Design is getting failed. Please reduce the load current value to avoid current limit hit.
