TIDA-010054: How to source the magnetic/transformer in order to build the TI design?

Part Number: TIDA-010054

Team,

in term of magnetics looking at the BOM we have:

For TIDM-02002  :T100 1 25uH PN: 60814 Payton Transformer, 25 uH, TH 130x90mm

For TIDA-010054  : 25 uH PN: 60830 payton 130x90mm

Could you please provide more information in order to source those components?
Is it off-the -self or custom made?

Thanks in advance,

A.

  • Hi Anthony,

The transformer for TIDM - 02002 was done through Payton in US and TIDA-010054 was done through Payton in India/Israel.

I had got the one in TIDA-010054 done through Payton India. The contact email is Sreekanth@paytongroup.com. You can get the custom planar transformer built according to your specifications.

    Thank you

  • Hi Harish,

You mean they are completely custom/taylor made (ie TI decided on dimensions L x l x H, connector position, ..etc?
Or are they based on the Payton Size 1000 specs (T1000xx-xx-xx) but with some custom parameters (like turns ratio)?
This model is described in the "Payton catalog 2015" public catalog at page 40/41: https://www.paytongroup.com/payton-full-catalog

  • Hi Anthony,

TI gives them the design specifications like the switching frequency of operation, Input and output voltages, allowable temperature rise, Turns ratio, desired leakage inductance etc. and they can make custom transformers for that design requirement.

The public catalog which they have is to showcase the planar transformer designs which they have done for different customers. You could probably order one of them if it suits your application for prototyping. I am not sure on their capability for mass production of samples.

    Thank you
