Hi,
I just downloaded the installation file into my laptop hard drive. entered access key, and I had an error message and installation was stopped just like below.
Anyone knows how do I set a valid HOME environment variable?
thank you!!
David
David,
Would you please use the paper clip icon to insert the screenshot? Pasting it won't work.
THanks,
JC
David,
It looks like you have a Windows environment variable called "home" which points to a directory that does not exist.
If it is not used by any other programs on your system, you can simply delete the variable and run the installation again.
Thanks,
JC
Hi JC,
the %home% in my laptop pointed to my network drive called "H:\CDSHOME" where my OrCAD Capture and OrCAD Psipce are installed there.
so I can't delete this folder. I am a little confused that why Pspice-for-TI can't be installed in my H:\ drive, and which directory it looked for?
thank you.
david
David,
At the time of installation, was the network drive online? maybe try to click on that in Windows explorer before running the installation?
Thanks,
JC
Hi JC,
I deleted HOME environment variable from my laptop, and that error message went away. As I moved to the next steps while it started to download files from the sever, the downloading progress bar just stepped forward a little bit and it crashed all windows without any error messages, I repeated several times it always stopped here. Any thoughts what happened? thank you! David
David,
That's the first time I heard about this. do you have this log file:
%appdata%\Cadence\PSpiceTIInstall\cdsPspiceTIlog.txt
Thanks,
JC

Hi David,
Thanks for the info. I sent you a message, please take a look.

JC
Hi David,
The errors indicates that system policies do not allow the hashing/encryption algorithm being used to verify the checksum. Please try the following steps:
1. Open Windows Control Panel > Administrative tools > Local Security Policy
2. In left pane, select Local Policies > Security Options
3. Then, in right pane, select ‘System Cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing and signing’
4. Double click on this and set it to disabled if it is enabled. Please see attached image.
5. Restart the machine and perform installation again.
Let us know if this works.
Thanks,
JC
Hi JC,
today I followed the instruction steps as above. unfortunately, I can not change the highlight part to "Disable" --even though I was granted the Admin access right. I think my company doesn't allow it to be changed.
so it means I can not install this software, right?
thanks,
david
Hi David,
I don't think there's something available that does not require this but I will check.
Meanwhile, can you ask you IT team to do the installation for you?
Thanks,
JC
Hi David,
Sorry, no workaround for this. Please ask your IT team to do it for you.
Thanks,
JC
