CC2340R5: Is Unique MAC address assigned for each shipped IC?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2340R5, CC2640, CC2642R

Hi,

I would like to confirm if there is a unique public MAC address assigned for each IC (CC2340R5 and CC2640)? If there is, is it only one assigned or have two?

Thanks,

  • Each SoC has only one unique MAC address assigned.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for reaching out.

As of today, the CC2340R5 devices are delivered without the public MAC address. However, by the time we start mass production of the device, we will change this and provide an unique MAC address address to each device.

When it comes to our other devices (CC2640, CC2640R2, CC2642R, CC2651, etc.), we provide them with a unique Bluetooth LE MAC address. This address can be overwritten by changing the CCFG configuration or used as it (most of the time, it is used as-it).

    I hope this will help,

    Best regards,
