CC2640R2F: Wanting to run Reference Design onto MODA

Hello,

I intend to import CC2640 R2 reference design to my CCS editor. I am also connected to the Booster pack CC2650 MODA. Can I run the CC2640 reference design onto the Booster pack EVM after I have changed the pin outs with board file?

By "reference design", do you mean importing an example from CC2640R2 SDK?

Note this will not work by default with CC2650, since there are device-level differences.

By reference design I mean the project that can be downloaded from here:

And by clicking on CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL.

The link you have provided assumes you have the CC2640R2 on hand, which I do not. As such I'm trying to run a project built for the CC2640R2 directly onto the MODA.

No, generally it will not be possible to run CC2640R2 firmware on CC2650. This is due to ROM-based differences.

It may be possible to run some drivers-based only examples, as the memory map for peripherals should be the same. But anything related to radio is likely incompatible between the two devices.

From the CC2650MA product page, there is a path to here: www.ti.com/.../BLE-STACK

Installing and looking in that BLE SDK, it does support BOOSTXL_CC2650MA.
