CC2340R2: Possibility to set Operating Frequency into 1,2,4 MHz for CC2340R2

Part Number: CC2340R2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2340R5, MSPM0L1306

Tool/software:

Good day TI Team,

Summary: Guidance Please, Regarding setting of CC2340R2 operating frequency (SYSOSC),

To reduce power consumption of CC2340R2 from 2.6mA to around 200uA,

Planned to reduce the operating frequency to maximum 4MHz, as current consumption is 53uA/MHz

It looks from CCS CC2340R5 *.syscfg file, not able to see the option to set the operating frequency into 1,2 or 4 MHz,

Do we have any option to set this operating frequency into 1,2 or 4 MHz like SYSCTL configuration available with MSPM0L1306 *.syscfg file.

Please guide us for setting CC2340R2 operating frequency into ,2 or 4 MHz,

Thanks

Selvam

  • Hi Selvam,

I am afraid the CC2340R device family is not tested for other core frequencies beside 48 MHz.

    Best regards,

  • Hi TI Team,

We are going to have product without wireless feature at initial version.

Is still CC2340R device family requiring 48MHz frequency?

    Thanks

    Selvam

  • Hi,

The best answer I can give you is "This has not been tested by TI".

In general, are you concerned by the average power consumption of the device, or its consumption while active? In general, the CC2340R is meant to alternate between active and standby so its average power consumption is much lower than its active power consumption taken alone.

    Best regards,
