Hello Team,

I have a customer who is interested in using the CC2650MODA solution. They have asked the following questions regarding the CC2650. Your help is greatly appreciated!

    What is the availability date for the CC2650 module CC2650MODA?

-          Are there plans for a device similar to the CC2650 with 256K flash?

-          Is there a stack that supports running the device in true multimode fashion simultaneously? i.e. not having to switch between BLE and 802.15.4

-          What (if any) are the plans to support Thread?

-          Is there an SDK available to support 802.15.4 on the device?

Hello Kishen,

Thank you for your interest in the CC2650MODA. The module is currently in Preview but will be open for orders soon.

Regarding module specifications, please refer to the associated CC2650MODA data sheet. The CC2650 has 128kB of in-system programmable flash memory. As stated on the CC2640 sticky FAQ thread, dual concurrent use of BLE and other wireless protocols is not supported.

For questions regarding Thread/802.15.4 support, please direct these inquires to the Sub-1 GHz - Proprietary and 15.4 Star networks Forum forum.

Hello JXS,

Thank you for answering the customers previous questions. They do have a few follow ups:

1. Sample availability for the CC2650MODA
2. Will the next generation device support dual concurrent use of BLE and other wireless protocols
3. What are their plans to implement a custom implementation or support OpenThread. If any, dates would be useful.

Hello Kishen,

I do not have the exact date, but the customer can register for the "Alert me" notification to be notified when the orders can be placed. The Module BoosterPack (boostxl-cc2650ma) is open for orders on the eStore and includes a CC2650MODA module in addition to the module mounted on the BoosterPack.

TI has not announced any device that will support dual concurrent use of BLE and other wireless protocols.
