Part Number: CC2650MODA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2640, , CC2650
Hey,
I'm developing a board relying on the CC26xx family.
I've used CC2640 modules in the past on my PCBs and had no issues debugging them with an XDS100v3.
I've now made a switch to the CC2650MODA, prepared a PCB but was unable to detect the chip with my debugger. I've followed the data sheet with regards to the pad layout and believe I have everything hooked up correctly. I've also added a pullup resistor on the reset line as this was not needed with my previous modules.
In order to make sure my setup is still operational, I've decided to hook up a CC2650MODA directly to the debugger to make sure I can control it but it doesn't seem to work correctly.
(Black -> GND, Red -> VDD, Blue -> Reset, Yellow -> right=TCK, left=TMS)
In SmartRF Flash Programer 2, I can only detect the chip correctly when connecting the debugger via USB after my module is powered and connected. However, any operation after that fails.
I don't have a pull-up in this case as I'm assuming the debugger actively drives the reset line, is that correct?
I also noticed that the two VDD pads aren't connected to each other (at least a continuity test fails), does that mean I must connect them both to the power source?
Attached are images of how I currently connected the CC2650MODA and the errors in the Flash Programmer. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Assaf
