CC2640R2F: flashing Error for cc2640

Which VDDS do you expect on the board? Do you actually power it with 2.0 V?

The software should have no impact here since you have to connect with jtag before you are able to upload the code.

first i have given the 3.3v directly from launchpad which result when tested was

VDDS - 3.3v

VVDR - 2.1v  

So i just disconnected from launchpad and given external power source of 2.1v to VDDS which result

VDDS 2.1v

VVDR - 1.96v

VDDR should be 1.65 V. If you measure 2.1 V when you power the board with 3.3 V indicate an hardware issue. VDDR should also not be dependent on VDDS level. At first look the schematic seems to be correct.

I would suggest you:
- Check that the component mounted actually have the value they should have. From time to time I see customers with assembly errors meaning that the component on the board is not the one stated in the schematic.
- Probe all pins on the board and also measure the impedance between nodes to see if you have some shorts etc.

right now i am not getting any of the voltage on VDDR pin .so what does it mean that the ic is damaged but on VDDS i got 3.0v

If this is the same board you have VDDR > 1.9 V, yes, it sounds like it's damaged.

What i observe is when the board is powered it gives 1.2v on VDDR for a second and then it decreases to 0.44-0.12v at VDDR pin Can you suggest ??

I suspect that you either have a hardware (PCB routing) or a assembly error on the network connected to the DCDC_SW pin. I would double check L1 and C15 if they are the correct size and also check the if the net is correct on the PCB with no shorts etc.

I assume that this error is the same on more than one board?

It's easier to put it the other way around: The components you don't need if you are going to check if you manage to connect via jtag are the ones connected to RF_P/ RF_N and the 32 kHz xtal. The 24 MHz is only used by the RF.

Yes, that should be sufficient.

Which tools is this from again? To check if you can connect with jtag the easiest would be to use Flash Programmer 2 and try to read the flash or similar.

Repeating a previous question:
- Do you hand solder this or is this done at an assembly house?
- On this new board, what is VDDR and the voltage on the decoupl pin?
- Is it possible to take a look at the layout?

VDDS - 3.28v
VDDR - 2.17v
DCOUPLE - 1.94v
