CC2650: Module designed based on the CC2650, the communication distance is too short.

Part Number: CC2650

Module designed based on the CC2650, the communication distance is too short. Here is the schematic I made myself. The circuit diagram is a reference to the CC2650 data sheet.

The picture below is the pcb layout of the antenna part, please help find the reason, thank you!

  • Hi,

I observed some differences from your Schematic to our Ref Design.

C15, C20 & C17 - Change it to 1pF (May not be that critical but better to check)

    R24 & R25 - Change it to 12pF ( DC Block is required).

Did you check the Tx power and Rx sensitivity on your boards?

Did you check the Antenna RL on your board?

I don't see Antenna Matching circuit ( from R25 to Antenna). You may need to add a PI network ( for Antenna Matching) in between R25 and Antenna. This will help to tune out any mismatch. Please note that Antenna matching must be done on a complete unit.

You can also use our Range Estimator tool to estimate the Range. The following is the link.

You can also refer to App note on Hardware Configuration and PCB Design Guide lines. The following is the link.

    Thanks,

  • Hi

I downloaded the Bluetooth protocol stack BLE-STACK-2-2-2 www.ti.com/.../ble-stack.
    I found the ccfg.c file.
Burning the stack and app projects under the cc2650bp and cc2650em folders will not work.
After burning, the cc2650 cannot send out the Bluetooth signal, but use the simple_np_cc2650lp_uart_pm_xsbl.hex file.
The update flash can be used normally.
I want to know if I am burning the wrong project.
Is there any project that can be used directly?
    Thanks
  • In your first mail, you are stating that the range is short. Which software did you use then since it sounds like you have issues downloading the correct stack?

Please go through this: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra603/swra603.pdf to verify your hardware first. I also note that you are missing a DC coupling towards the antenna, is this OK with the regards to the antenna you are using.
