CCS/CC1352P: TX_PA balun impedance for CC1352P

Part Number: CC1352P

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

For simulation purposes , kindly provide below details for CC1352P:

1) Impedance of TX_20dBm_N and TX_20dBm_P pins of CC1352P.

2) Also what will be the output impedance of Balun ??

3) Also provide the testing procedure , performance parameters and its acceptance range for functional testing ?

  • 1) See chapter 8 in http://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra640c/swra640c.pdf on why we don't provide these data. Note that we newer use the internal pin impedance in our development. What exactly do you want to simulate?

    2) The output of the balun is close to 50 ohm.

    3) It's not clear what you want to test here. Please elaborate.

  • Hi,

Impedance is needed to simulate the Balun in HFSS .

Objective is to know the variability in the balun components arises due to PCB layer stacking and components tolerance.

Also helps us to check the balun performance.

Kindly guide us the impedance of TX_20dBm_N and TX_20dBm_P pin impedance .

  • I don't agree that you need to know the chip impedance to simulate the balun. When I simulate S11, S21 etc of a balun I always use 50 ohm terminations since I want to know the impedance seen into the balun. Also it sounds like you mainly want to do a relative simulation meaning that you want to compare S21 as a function of stacking and component tolerance.

Note that since TX_20dBm_P/N is outputs for the 20 dBm PA which has swing in the volt range a small signal impedance will not berelevant since this will only be slightly relevant at the zero crossings meaning that measuring impedance at these nodes will not give a useful number.
