The sblAppEx source which was created in Visual Studio Professional 2015 is provided in the corresponding Application Report.  UNIFLASH also offers a scripting tool but I'm not sure if this will be helpful for your application, please refer to the Quick Start Guide and SLAU799.

CC2640R2F Launchxl Not responding on both command ( COMMAND_GET_CHIP_ID packet would be {0x03, 0x28, 0x28} and COMMAND_PING {0x03, 0x20, 0x20} ) only responds on 0X55, 0X55  as 00 CC

and which document i will refer for " You must use the Serial Bus Commands in Section 8.2.3 to program the flash memory data at the addresses described in the hex file "

Section 8.2.2.1.1 of SWCU117 and Section 2.4.3 of SWRA466 state that sending two bytes with the value of 0x55 is required to let the device detect the baud rate, only after which should commands be sent.  Perhaps your byte significance is also to be considered.  Please carefully review the documentation and scope the UART lines to debug before returning with further inquiries.

i using serial terminal software to connect com port, baud rate, parity to CC2640R2F than i sent 0x55, 0x55 it will replay 00CC but than i sent 0x03, 0x28, 0x28

it will replay 0033 continuously but i expect chip it .

please replay ASAP.

The bootloader is stored in ROM and as such will not be erased nor is the source available to developers.  A value of 0x33 indicates a NACK which could imply an issue with your UART baud rate.  You can attempt other simple commands such as COMMAND_PING or COMMAND_GET_STATUS.

I am trying to flash an image to a 2640 device over UART(using serial software) using the bootloader.

We are able to establish a connection to the bootloader and send commands successfully.

I send only 1 byte of data in the COMMAND_SEND_DATA packet, we are able to send a few packets successfully.

How to send, blinky_backdoor_select_btn2640r2.bin OR simple_peripheral_cc2640r2lp_app.hex 

to flash an image successfully(send from serial software)?

I'm glad to hear you are making progress.  The application you develop must interpret the addresses and data bytes stored inside the hex image and program the device accordingly using bootloader commands (COMMAND_SECTOR_ERASE, COMMAND_DOWNLOAD, COMMAND_SEND_DATA, etc).

upto get satatus all will ok, when sending command data send it will NACK  i am cross check with sblAppEx_1_03_00_00 data on serial monitor .

Something is incorrect with your COMMAND_DATA_SEND packet if you receive a NACK.  You will have to ensure that your size and checksum are correct.  It is a good idea to cross check with sblAppEx.

What version of SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK and CCSTUDIO do you use to build the code?  Are you able to program after the memory is erased?  Enabling the ROM bootloader should not interfere with JTAG access, have you made any other code changes?

--> No, i m using as it is simple_peripheral Code(with above changes in ccfg_app_ble.c)

Please upgrade to SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK v2.40 and CCSTUDIO 9.3 if possible.  I recommend erasing memory before re-programming unless you can provide a reason that this is not warranted for your application.

1) my aim same as off-chip OAD( in place of wireless  firmware update I am using wired (through uart) )

when existing firmware runs on the device, I send new firmware if the image is valid than update the new one OR if the image invalid than run with the old one firmware. with erasing existing firmware how is it possible?

2) I am using a simple peripheral example it generates .out and .hex file, I want the .bin file so please tell me how to generate the .bin file?

i do not understand above solution, please tell me how to convert off chip OAD code for uart (how to write new firmware in external flash when running existing firmware using flash programmer 2) my aim is update the firmware thrugh uart  in the place of offchip oad.please suggest a solution.

I explained the process for creating a factory image backup to be stored in external flash memory but this (and off-chip OAD) uses NVS SPI driver to interface with a MX25R8035F external flash memory device.  TI does not provide a NVS UART driver so you would have to develop one using the resources provided.

can I all the above producer configure on the software side is it possible? (i check the reset command, it work. what about BTN-1 how to configure in software as active low)

Hello Shivraj,

The ROM bootloader can only be entered after a device reset, not jumped to during active operation, and you can modify the SET_CCFG_BL_CONFIG_* values inside the CCFG file to configure its options.  Otherwise you would need to develop a custom flash bootloader solution.

The ROM bootloader must be configured such that it is entered based on the level of a DIO pin during reset.  You can determine both the level and pin number inside the CCFG.
