Hello everyone,
I want to implement a data detection and transmission system via MF consisting of a TAG and a READER.
I have identified two possible solutions:
1) combined use of PaLFI TMS37157 with TMS3705 Range Extender Power;
2) use of a LF 134kHz HDX RFIDMRD2EVM Microreader.
Given that with regard to the solution 1 I have already identified the appropriate TAG, I would like to understand which of the two is more efficient, and relative to the solution 2 which TAG can use.
Thank you in advance for advice.
Good day
Mauro
Hello Mauro,
the 20cm reading distance you want to achieve with a small tag is a tough goal.
The MRD2 Eval Kit, which has a PCB antenna (4cm square), together with the PaLFI kit (ferrite antenna 1cm) has a reading distance of about 8cm.
With a lager antenna this distance can be increased. A 32mm Read-Only Glass Transponder (2cm ferrite) is around 15cm.
A reader with more output power will help to better charge up the transponder, but a small tag will have also a smaller return signal and then the reader sensitivity is the limiting factor.
Best Regards,
Helfried
Hello Helfried,
after your answer, I am oriented to continue with the tandem TMS37015 + TMS37157; I would like to ask you, if you know, if they are components in obsolescence or if instead their production will continue for 5 or more years.
Thanks in advance.
Mauro
