Tool/software:
Hi Ti Experts.
We see that CC1314 consumes approximately 25.8mA at 14dBm.
We used CCS to compile rfCarrierWave_LP_EM_CC1314R10_tirtos7_gcc
We use this hex to measure the carrier wave power consumption, which is about 36mA.
How can we measure 25.8mA? Is there any setting that requires the CPU to enter a sleep state when RF is working?
Can you give me some advice?
Thanks.
Hi,
For initial RF evaluation, please use SmartRF Studio 7: https://www.ti.com/tool/SMARTRFTM-STUDIO to set the device to transmit a continuous (unmodulated) carrier wave.
Are you using a TI LaunchPad for these measurements?
Regards,
Zack
Hi ZC,
Thanks for your reply
Sure,
I also used smart rf studio to make measurements. The power consumption is slightly higher than RF carrier wave by 2mA, about 38mA.
Hi,
There will be device-to-device variation but I agree that this current consumption is higher than expected.
Please can you confirm the current consumption of a 915 MHz, +14 dBm CW TX as well?
Regards,
Zack
Hi Zack,
I tried to use 915Mhz by Smart RF Studio.
the current consumption about 42mA@14dBm.
Dear Zack,
do you have CC1314 Launchpad,
could you help me verify CW@14dBm using the CC1314 LP?
Hi,
If the LaunchPad is powered by USB the voltage will be 3.3V, not 3.6V as measured in the datasheet (as detailed in Section 8.6).
As a first step for this, you will need to use a VDDS of 3.6V for a like-to-like comparison.
Regards,
Zack
