CC1314R10: Please tell me the recommended TCXO model number

Hi All,

Please tell me the recommended TCXO model number for CC1314R10.
I checked with EPSON's TG2016SMN 48.0000M-MCGNNM, but the output power is insufficient.

Best Regards,

Ito

  • Hi,

Is this the case that you are reporting lower RF output power (8 dBm) when using a TCXO than when using a crystal ?

What output power do you measure with a crystal ?

Using a TCXO or a crystal should not effect the level of the RF output power.

    Regards,

       Richard

  • Hi Richard,

Since it is exactly the same hardware as EVM, the only difference is the change from crystal to TCXO.
Theo and Zack replied that there is no problem with the software.
However, we have not heard back from them since then, so please contact them.
Are there any recommended TCXO model number?
Please let us know the recommended TCXO model number.

    Best Regards,

    Ito

  • Hi,

There should not be a difference in output power when using a crystal or a TCXO. This just sets the reference frequency for the radio and not the RF output power level.

What is the voltage level to your TCXO (1.8V or 3V) ?

Are you following the SWRA640 app note Section 7 when using a TCXO: www.tij.co.jp/.../swra640

Attached TCXO datasheets that can be recommended.

  • The vendor part number in the LP-EM-CC1314R10 ref design is as you mentioned: TG2016SMN 48.000000MHz TCGNNM.

Can you test on the LP-EM-CC1314R10 to check your output power level with a crystal and then with the TCXO ?

  • Hi Richard.

Thank you for your help !

Zack contacted me about this support via private message.

    Best Regards,
