CC1310: What's the structure and contents of CC13xx Die ID's?

The CC13x0, CC26x0 SimpleLink Wireless MCU Technical Reference Manual says:

"DIE_ID_0 register in eFuse row number 3."

The doc says DIE_ID's 1, 2, and 3 are on eFuse rows 4, 5, and 6 respectively.

So what's the difference between DIE_ID_0, DIE_ID_1, DIE_ID_2, and DIE_ID_3?

Doc says:

"Default value depends on eFuse value."

What does "Default value" mean if Die ID is different for every device?

Where's MAC address in the doc?

Hi Johny,

The MAC address is stored in the IEEE_MAC_0 and IEEE_MAC_1 CCFG registers. Please see the Technical Reference Manual section 9.1.1 CCFG Registers.

The FCFG values you are talking about do not have anything to do with the MAC address.

The doc says:

custom IEEE MAC address.

Does "custom" mean that for this field to contain a value, we must load our own desired MAC address into the MAC fields ourself? So it's not factory-loaded?

Doc says:

If different from 0xFFFFFFFF then the value of this field is applied otherwise use value from FCFG

What is "value from FCFG"?

Are the DIE_ID's manufacturing ID's, unique to each IC?

Hi Johny,

The relevant FCFG fields are MAC_15_4_0 and MAC_15_4_1. (DIE ID is not used for the MAC address.)

If you don't load your on desired value, the IEEE_MAC_0 and IEEE_MAC_1 CCFG registers will just contain FF FF, and the MAC address will be read from the FCFG fields MAC_15_4_0 and MAC_15_4_1.

Hi Johny,

Every single CC1310 we manufacture goes through a production test before we ship it.

BTW I realized I gave you a wrong answer. The correct version is this:

If you don't load your on desired value, the IEEE_MAC_0 and IEEE_MAC_1 CCFG registers will just contain FF FF, and the MAC address will be read from the FCFG fields MAC_15_4_0 and MAC_15_4_1.

Yes this value is written during production test to ensure each device has a unique MAC address.
