CC1125DK: CC1125DK evaluation modules

Part Number: CC1125DK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1125, CC1120

HI,

What evaluation modules are availabe for use with the CC1125 Development kit?  From what I can see, only the CC1125-868MHz CAT1 module is actually available to buy.  I am looking to use this in the 902 to 928MHz band, so need a suitable EM to use with the CC1125DK.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ian

  • HI,

I already have the CC1125DK, so would prefer a solution that works with this.

I know nothing about the Boost platform!!  Does this operate stand-alone?  Can I use this with Smart RF studio 7?

    Thanks,

    Ian

  • I couldn't find anything in TI store that could be used on the 915 MHz band.

    From the link I sent:

"The CC1125 BoosterPack module is designed to use with the MSP-EXP430F5529 and MSP-EXP430G2553 LauchPad development kits and as well as to work as a stand-alone module by using SmartRF Studio application software.  The module is equipped with an integrated PCB trace antenna which operates in  European 869~870MHz and the US 902~928MHz ISM frequency bands."

  • Thanks,
If I am not going to be using 4FSK or 4GFSK modes, can I use the CC1120 in its place (There is a 915MHz CC1120 module available)? What other features will I lose by changing to the CC1120?
  • It's two main differences between CC1120 and CC1125:
    - Minimum RX BW (CC1125 goes lower down)
    - CC1125 can run with a 32 MHz and a 40 MHz xtal, CC1120 only with a 32 MHz xtal. Hence the CC1125 is capable of lower phase noise and are able to have slightly higher RX BW.
