WL1831MOD: optimization of transmission spead

Part Number: WL1831MOD

Tool/software:

Hello team,

My customer uses the device with a linux host and has issues with transmission speed - can you please give some advise how the customer could improve his setup. They already tried to improve on DLE but this did not work out.

Here are additional information:

Which Stack BlueZ or Bluetopia: BlueZ

Stack version: 5.55

Kernel version: 6.1.22-00037-g6189a37f73b3

BLE or Bluetooth: BLE

Type of transfer / file or countiues: file (we are using GATT services with characteristics to exchange data)

Which Bluetooth Profile do you use: A/V Remote Control (regarding the information from the connected smartphone)

I already opened another thread for the topic:

Thanks

  • Hi Jan,

I would recommend to have faster transmission speeds to leverage BT classic as it has a higher mtu size, If you are tryiing to send a big amount of data I would recommend the spp profiile or for file transfers the FTP profile. Unfortunately TI does not support the BlueZ host stack for the WL18xx and we do not have examples of these profiles that customers can leverage. However, we do have the bluetopiaPM stack that the customer can try to use that has these profiles and demos built in. They could then take what HCI commands are sent from the host stack to the controller and try to implement that functionality in BlueZ.

Also the WL18xx does not support DLE.

    Best,

    Rogelio
