wl18xx Bluetooth Audio with wm8958 Audio codec

Hi,

We are observing no audio from wl18xx Bluetooth module when it configured as A2DP sink in android on imx6 custom board.

wl18xx Bluetooth module PCM data connected to wm8958 Audio codec, please find schematic in attachment.

As a verification, we have probed below signals

1. BT_PCM_CLK (Some noise Observed)

2. BT_PCM_SYNC (Some noise observed)

3. BT_PCM_OUT (No Data/ noise observed)

Please let us know

1. If already tested with combination of WL18xx And WM8958. please provide the details.
2. How can we confirm BT audio functionality standalone in android.

Note: AVRCP, PBAP are working properly.

This is a codec configuration specific issue which is not part of our expertise.
We have several customers using the imx6.0 custom board. however it's not a board we officially support (which means we don't test all of our features and capabilities on this board).

Hi,

In order to verify PCM functionality, and correct codec configuration, you should start first with PCM loopback test.

Send_HCI_VS_Set_Pcm_Loopback_Enable 0xFE28, 0x1.

Make sure to download the initscript before, and also to configure the codec of the chip. The below is just an example, but should be totally aligned to what the host's codec is configured to.

Send_HCI_VS_Write_CODEC_Config 0xFD06, 3072, 0x00, fSync, 0x0001, 1, 0x00, 0x00, 16, 0x0001, 1, 16, 0x0001, 0, 0x00, 16, 17, 0x01, 16, 17, 0x00, 0x00
