CC3120: Mesh network and connection criteria

If we have a profile saved for an SSID that is used by a mesh network that contains 3 nodes, how does the CC3120 determine which node to connect to if the profile doesn’t explicitly say which BSSID to use?

Does it pick the best signal strength and connect to that?

Hi Lenio,

Yes, if there are multiple APs broadcasting the same SSID and no BSSID is specified in the profile, then the CC3120 will connect to the AP with the best signal strength.

Hi Lenio,

Yes, it will be as Michael described if you are performing an initial connection or relying on the auto-connect feature. The fast connect feature should attempt to reconnect you to the same node if it is enabled before resorting to a scan as part of the auto-connect process (assuming both are enabled).
