CC3135: Could you provide transceiver mode parameter in power management example?

What are you using to measure the current? can you provide graphs?

There can be differences here in avg. current for different modes depending on the DTIM setting of the AP, and also other devices connected to the network.

Key in 5 to join in always connected mode. AP is iphone in not shielding room. 

Use Keysight N6705C DC power analyzer measure current on VBAT_CC and GND. 

VBAT_CC is 3.6V.

Remove J7 jumper, disconnect VCC_BRD. Hardware connection as below.

J6 is a USB interface on our board which is different as the page 26 on SWRA594.

The measured average current is 1.1mA, bigger than offered 567uA.

Question:

1. How to make the modification on CC3135 boosterpack?

2. How to reproduce the test current in mode 3, 4, 5 under what settings? Thanks.

Above you are measuring the current of both the MSP and CC device. Ideally, power the device over USB, and connect a current meter in series with VBAT_CC and VCC.

We use DC power analyzer measure current by connecting to VBAT_CC and GND.

Looking at the hardware again, i don't think that is the issue. What are you setting the LSI interval to, and what is the DTIM of the AP?

We test it in always connected mode at power management project default parameter, only change SSID_NAME, SECURITY_TYPE, and SECURITY_KEY macro definition according to 2.2.2 chapter of http://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra594/swra594.pdf

Above current is test by iPhone as AP, next step, we will change to use a Wi-Fi AP and test again.

Because on page 26 of SWRA594, it's CC3120 booster, the hardware modification is different with CC3135 boosterpack.

My question is :

1. Should we disconnect bottom MSP432 launchpad after select always connected mode by UART?

2. Then remove J7 jumper, disconnect  VCC_BRD. 

3. Measure the current on VBAT_CC and GND by Keysight N6705C DC power analyzer .

Is the above operation correct? Especially should we disconnect MSP432 launchpad board after select always connected mode?

You should not have to disconnect the MSP.

Can you tell me the current in between the peaks? also what is the time between peaks?

Thanks for you follow up.
Right now, the test average current is close to the AN number now.
But we catch some intermittent current peak and don't know what's the meaning.
