WL1837MOD: WL1837MOD ini files for FCC testing of unintentional radiation

Part Number: WL1837MOD

We are testing the WL1837MOD with an antenna that is different from what is in the current FCC report.

The test house I am working with is requesting me to configure the radio for unintentional radiation testing.

My assumption is that this can be done with an .ini file that enables the outer most channels at maximum power?

Is this something that TI has and can provide to us for testing?

  • Hi Michael,

I hope all is well. I am not sure what the lab is asking here? We have not provided any instructions to a customer to do this on our radio. Having said that you can use calibrator command with the host and adjust output powers for a particular channel as needed. This is best so that you are not overriding the .INI file. You can see the calibrator commands here:

    1. https://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL18xx

      1. Under the Calibration and Testing section you can see the pages for you reference.

When you are doing unintentional radiator at the product level, this is usually looking at the spurs/harmonics from the other clock sources in your design, and not the WL18xx radio.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Riz
