was there any real resolution discovered?' Im having the same issue.... cc2531 not showing up at all in windows, but flashes fine etc....... only thing i would like to add is that windows does make the sound when i plug it in like it recognises it but nothing, and the green light is on at first but then goes off after abit.

What firmware do you download into your CC2531EMK? sniffer or ZNP?

I believe it was cc2531ZNP-Prod.hex

Thinking of trying, sniffer_fw_cc2531.hex

Do you know if that has usb support, like sniffer_fw_cc2540_usb.hex?

CC2531 ZNP and sniffer support USB by default. You also need to make sure you install driver properly.

Ok, so i reflashed for sniffer firmware, and windows now sees it but, it doesnt like the cebal2 drivers.

There was a combination of things that did ultimatley resolve my issue, one was the reflash using sniffer_fw_cc2531.hex firmware and then i found a discussion elswhere on this forum with a different driver, im not at the same computer now, but im thinking it was the difference 64 vs 32 bit drivers...... now it is able to be recognized, and excepted drivers, and now is scanning. Thanks
