LP-CC2652RB: Smart RF Sniffer won't detect my device

I've gone through the setup instructions listed in the SmartRF Packet Sniffer 2 User Guide several times.

I cannot seem to get the Packet Sniffer application to detect my LP-CC2652RB with sniffer firmware installed.

I am using a microcontroller with Rev E silicon.

One note when looking through the forums, I read someone had resolved this same issue on a CC26x2R1 by setting the serial port baud rate to 921600.

I already had that setting selected, however there are not any COM ports to choose from in the settings.

COM14 and COM15 are the ports that populate in my Device Manager for the XDS110 debugger and application.

What should I do next?

I just test this with my LP-CC2652RB and it works fine. You have to make sure you download sniffer_fw.hex under C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\SmartRF Packet Sniffer 2\sniffer_fw\bin\cc2652rblp into your LP-CC2652RB before you press "Detect Devices" on your Smart RF Sniffer Agent.

Yes I did that. That's what I meant by "with sniffer firmware installed".

I feel like there's something wrong with the serial port since it will not allow me to choose one.

Is there a maximum limitation on the COM port numbering?

I have 64-bit Windows 10 if that makes any difference.

Make sure you close all other TI SW such as CCS, Flash Programmer 2, SmartRF Studio.... and restart your Smart RF Sniffer Agent to test again.

Ok I tried again with nothing else running except Microsoft Outlook.

No luck.

Maybe try to restart your desktop to test again. By the way, can you see your LP-CC2652RB simulate two virtual COM ports on Windows Device Manager?

I did restart several times.

Yes I'm seeing COM14 and COM15.

I'll try to restart again...

Restarting did not make any difference.

I also tried re-assigning the ports to COM6 and COM7.

That also did not help any.

Do you have any other LaunchPads or PCs to test with? Are you using UNIFLASH or FLASH-PROGRAMMER to load the firmware? Make sure to erase all device memory before programming. The LP-CC2652RB and Windows 10 64-bit are supported by PACKET-SNIFFER 2 v1.8.0

I've also tried with with a lp-CC2650 and have the same results (also rev E silicon).

I've tried using both Uniflash and Flash Programmer 2. I'm pretty sure am erasing the entire device before programming but I'll try again.
